Annually, through a partnership with the Falls of the Ohio State Park and the Falls of the Ohio Foundation supports professional development workshops that provide teachers with opportunities to learn about geology and the natural environment. These free workshops are made possible by the contributions of the Sam Shine Foundation and Irving Materials, Inc.

This summer (2025) Mr. Alan Goldstein of the Falls of the Ohio State Park and Mr. Chris Jozefowicz of Jefferson Community and Technical College will offer a professional development workshop “The Waldron Shale Project: Fossil identification and analysis for K-12 Science Classrooms.”
