“George Rogers Clark and the American Revolution at the Falls of the Ohio” Presented by Gina Possanza

1778: As battles of the American Revolution waged on in the east, a critical secret mission unfolded in the west at the Falls of the Ohio on a now-lost island. Under the darkness of a total solar eclipse, George Rogers Clark and his small force of militiamen set out on their bold expedition to capture the British posts in the Illinois Country. A year later, Clark returned to the Falls where he established headquarters.

In the year that marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, discover how George Rogers Clark and his men utilized the Falls of the Ohio as a strategic command post on the frontier that developed into the city of Louisville during the American Revolution.

Presented by Gina Possanza.
