State Park Exhibits

Welcome to the shallow tropical sea, located 30° south of Earth’s equator (390 million years ago). During the middle of the Devonian Period this tropical sea covered what is now the Falls of the Ohio State Park and much of the eastern United States. Discover the fascinating ancient creatures whose fossil remains can be seen and touched on the fossil beds today.

This entertaining and educational exhibit will inform visitors about types of fossils and how paleontologists categorize and preserve them Dale Brown, “Paleo Dale” is an amateur geologist/paleontologist and Volunteer at Heart for the Falls of the Ohio state park.
