Teacher Professional Development

Annually, through a partnership with the Falls of the Ohio State Park and the Falls of the Ohio Foundation supports professional development workshops that provide teachers with opportunities to learn about geology and the natural environment. These free workshops are made possible by the contributions of the Sam Shine Foundation and Irving Materials, Inc.

Spaces for these workshops are limited and applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more below!

The Waldron Shale Project – June 17, 2026

This summer professional development workshop includes “The Waldron Shale Project: Fossil identification and analysis for K-12 Science Classrooms.”

This summer one-day professional development workshop ” Project WET” and “Project WILD” will offer ready to use lessons on environmental science and sustainability for your classroom or to enhance your programs.
