Conklin (Jim) was at the University of Louisville and Mrs. Barbara Conkin established the geoscience program at the Jefferson Community College. Both taught\, published numerous studies\, wrote books\, and influenced the careers of many students from the 1960s – 1990s.

George Rogers Clark founded Louisville and Clarksville\, captured the Northwest Territory from the British. It’s the place that Meriwether Lewis met William Clark to start the famous expedition. It was the first locks and dam on the Ohio River\, one of the first bridges to span the river. It is people and engineering marvels. Volunteer training class by Paul Olliges\, amateur Falls historian and 30+-year volunteer\, is free with Interpretive Center admission.

DESCRIPTION:Escape the hustle and bustle and join us for the Falls of the Ohio Foundation’s Summer Yoga Series. \nEnjoy yoga on the deck this summer overlooking the majestic Falls of the Ohio with the Louisville skyline as your backdrop.  Led by experienced instructor Dre Smith\, our yoga summer series will foster a deep mind-body connection through ancient yoga practices\, promoting inner harmony and well-being.  \nDates: (Saturdays) May 10\, May 24\, June 7\, June 21\, September 6\, September 20\, October 4\, October 11   Classes are inclusive for all skill levels and are free to Foundation members.  Non-members are asked to make a donation.  Remember to bring your mat.  Please register by sending us an email at foundation@fallsoftheohio.org with your contact information and dates you plan to attend.  Classes will be moved inside the Interpretive Center in case of inclement weather.

George Rogers Clark founded Louisville and Clarksville\, captured the Northwest Territory from the British. It’s the place that Meriwether Lewis met William Clark to start the famous expedition. It was the first locks and dam on the Ohio River\, one of the first bridges to span the river. It is people and engineering marvels. Volunteer training class by Paul Olliges\, amateur Falls historian and 30+-year volunteer\, is free with Interpretive Center admission.
