SUMMARY:Outer Fossil Bed Hike\, Falls of the Ohio State Park
DESCRIPTION:The outer fossil beds are one of the world’s most amazing excursions to see Devonian fossils in their natural “habitat.” We only offer this hike in the late summer and fall. This hike is moderately rugged on uneven limestone ledges and without shade\, so wear a hat. Use enclosed shoes and bring water. You will do a little wading; the worst is about two feet deep with a moderate current. Meet at the Deck 15 minutes early to sign the waiver. The hike is for anyone over age 12. 3 hours. Meets on the Observation Deck. Free with $2 parking fee

DESCRIPTION:The atlatl is an ancient hunting weapon which preceded the bow and arrow. Come and join one of our Naturalists at Heart who will explain the origin of the spear thrower. During this program you will have an opportunity to practice your atlatl throwing skills by trying to hit the bullseye on a foam target. \n\n\n\n1 hour. Meets near the Outdoor Classroom.
