The History of Geological Time

The understanding of geological time is a fascinating story – a battle against medieval dogma. Geology’s late renaissance, when compared to astronomy and biology, made the concept of geologic time one of science’s most recent developments. Whereas as some understandings can be traced to one person, geological time was evolved from the studies of many naturalists and geologists who investigated the rocks and fossils of Europe.
