Fossils in Quartz – Meet the Paleontologist

Examples of the fossil preservation called “silicification” will be explored.  Gallons of quartz fossils are found throughout the central Ohio River Valley.   Why does our area have so many quartz-replaced fossils, when other places do not?  Park paleontologist, Alan Goldstein, will pull out specimens from the park’s collections.  This is a free program.
