Programs

Saturday History Programs
Now in its eighth year, the last Saturday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in our auditorium, we show a different 20 - 40 minute video on our "big screen." The Ancient Kentucke Historical Association continues the series. A speaker will accompany each video to answer questions you might have. The program topic will be announced one month in advance. These programs are free with regular Interpretive Center admission.

Outer Fossil Bed Hikes
August 30, Sept. 13, Sept. 20, Sept. 21, (9:30 a.m.); Oct. 4, Oct. 11  (10:00 a.m.)
Led by long-time park volunteer Paul Olliges.  This strenuous three-hour hike is restricted to age 12 and up. Access depends on the river level—if the dam gates are open, we can’t go out!  Call the park office the day before. Meet on the deck of the Interpretive Center.

Canoe Hikes
August 30, Sept. 13, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 18
 (9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
Paddle the falls and discover a very pleasant way to discover wildlife and seldom-seen fossils. Join an interpretive naturalist and see our park as few are able. Call 812-280-9970 for current information. Rent a canoe or kayak from www.canoekentucky.com.
